For some reason, I cannot play New Horizons mod with this latest version of the engine. It starts the splash screen and initializes but then it crashes. I have dump file if needed. Do I need any redistributable other than one from the provided folder?
Everything I think is necessary should be included. I have no problems launching New Horizons, so I can't say. Does it crash just before the main menu? What do the system.log and compile.log say and error.log? You can send the log files and .dmp file and I can try to determine the problem: chezjfrey@hotmail.com
Actually, it was the steering wheel that was causing the problem. I just unplugged it and now it works. I don't know why it causes conflict with the game.
This is good information. I did add a mechanism to detect XBOX controllers and the engine will support them (I am still waiting on a tester to help figure a good default mapping for the ERAS mod, so it's not fully implemented yet). It works for XBOX controllers, but with your problem, it must somehow go wrong in the cases of certain other controllers that are not compatible, but the detection maybe has a flaw for those cases like your steering wheel. I will try other controllers I have to see if I can reproduce this problem and eliminate the crash if it is not an XBOX type.
Well it turns out I broke the XBOX controller detection too. I found the problem and fixed it. The next update should no longer have this problem.
Thanks for the fix. I play F1 games sometimes and the steering wheel was atached when I started the game. If you need any testing, let me know, I will gladly help. Just point me what to do :)
It's uploaded now. It should no longer crash when your other controller is plugged in.
